It was the gala night at the so called Oscars of the food and nightlife industry in the ‘The Times of India Food and Nightlife Awards’ 2008-09 held at ITC Grand Central in Parel. The show which was consisted of delicious cuisines served by 30 of Mumbai’s best restaurants had the gathering of Bollywood Celebrities at the party to enjoy delicacy.

Sohail Khan and Ness Wadia joined the DJ Night

It was the great DJ night at the hot spot of Mumbai, Dragonfly, where all the renowned DJs like WhoSane, Designer Hippies and Karan Bhoj were joined by Sohail Khan and Ness Wadia on November 15th. Have some of the pictures from the DJ night held at Dragon Fly.

‘Delhi Belly’ to present Imran Khan in a new look

Just two films behind him and there is no questioning the newcomer Imran Khan’s versatility. His cute young lad look in ‘Jaane Tu…’ was quite different from his raw and rough look in ‘Kidnap’. Uncle Aamir Khan’s ‘Delhi Belly’ is going to present him in yet another look with long, dishevelled hair, a stubble and even with a leaner look. However, after the completion of ‘Delhi Belly’, Imran will have to regain the lost weight and muscles for ‘Luck’, which is heading towards completion.

“I am on a strict diet, having one meal a day. That’s the demand of the character. He has to look lean. Aamir Uncle has asked me to follow a regime, you know how particular he is about everything,” says Imran.

Talking of DELHI BELLY, Imran feels the film holds tremendous appeal for the international audiences. “It should prove to be that breakthrough film in the international markets. Aamir knows better, he must’ve done a lot of homework before plunging headlong into this film,” he adds. I endorse this viewpoint!

After ‘Luck’, Imran plans to take a break of at least a few months before signing his next venture. “I’ve been shooting non-stop, I need to unwind before I accept new assignments,” Imran states.

Kangana-Aditya War Gets Dirty

Kangana Ranaut is still basking in the glory of her latest success ‘Fashion’ and she is happily in love with Adhyayan Suman but Aditya Panscholi is still hell bent on washing his dirty linen in public.

I wonder how that man manages to get away with anything and everything - except for success in his film career.

“I was building a home for the two of us,” he said. According to him, he lived with Kangana three years at a friend’s place “as husband and wife”. She has used me.

Aditya accused Kangana of infidelity he confirmed that he physically assaulted her at the middle of the road because he discovered she has been unfaithful to him. Look who is talking of fidelity. Aditya Pancholi who has been married to popular TV actress Zarina and who has a daughter as old as Kangana has openly admitted his so-called affair with her.
More so, he claims he lent Kangana 55 lakh rupees to buy an apartment and now he wants her to return the same. However, Kangana’s spokesperson, rubbishing Aditya’s claims said,

“Kangana has already given Rs 50 lakh to Aditya Pancholi as a goodwill gesture, in appreciation of the time that his family stood by her.”

“As for his jealousy about Kangana’s friendship with Adhyayan, it’s a fact that Aditya makes a scene whenever he hears a rumour linking her with any of her male colleagues. After physically assaulting her in the middle of the road, he has no right to expect anything from her. She is simply being punished for a mistake she made at the age of 18,” he added.

Wonder what his wife Zarina takes for food because she is forever ready to forgive him no matter what. Strangely the man also acknowledges the fact.

“Zarina has been my support and strength. In spite of all the pain that I’ve caused her she says she wants to be my wife for seven more lives.” (Wonder why)

Dont Work With Rani: Ash Tells Abhishek

Just when people were talking about Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee being an item after the success of Bunty and Babli and there Abhishek despite giving all the hints right somehow drifted away to Ash.

Whatever be the reason, but Aishwarya Rai is not willing to let go off the past. According to some popular media, “Abhishek was offered a small but significant role in the Yash Raj banner project the shooting for which has already begun now. He declined the offer due to Rani Mukherjee. He now does not work with Rani after his marriage with Aishwarya Rai. He had earlier done a cameo in their Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007) opposite Rani so it was taken for granted that he would say yes”.

Another source reveals, “Ash is not comfortable with Abhishek’s friendship with Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek has decided not to work with any of the two.”

Guess… Ash should be a little more secure, considering she is an actor too and there is something called ‘professionalism’.

Recovered Big B Gets Back To Work

Amitabh Bachan after his birthday health scare has recuperated after one whole month and has gotten back to his dear old work.Confirming the news Big Sai, “I’m starting on 15th with Leena Yadav’s ‘Teen Patti’. There isn’t much pending work there.”

Big B was away to Udaipur on a small holiday, but with his physician.

“I needed to get away from home. I needed time to myself, to read and write. And to watch the films that I’ve been meaning to for a long time. It was so peaceful out here. I should do this more often. But where is the time to take time off?”

The man at 65 has a lot of fan following. One might feel it would have been a burden to be mobbed every now and then by fans who wont even spare him in illness and Amitabh explains,

“My fans are never a burden. They are welcome any time. I publicly meet them every Sunday and specific ones get to meet me on my films’ sets. No issues there… But I do regret not being able to meet the well-wishers that assembled to greet me. I am sure they have understood the gravity of the situation. There will be other moments to make up for the loss.”

Katrina Kaif Troubled By An Impersonator

This is what they call Identity Theft. Someone has created an account on a popular social networking site by Katrina Kaif’s name, putting up her pictures. The impersonator has also created a very authentic looking email id - katrinakaif84@hotmail.com through which he/she has been sending out mails to a lot of people.Apparently a journalist called Katrina Kaif and told her that she received an email from her. Katrina who was shooting for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, said that she was shocked to discover that because she hadn’t sent any mails.

A very hassled Katrina said, “I clarified with the journalist that I had not sent any email to her. My manager and official spokesperson have been inundated with calls from people who think that I have contacted them. I am perplexed.”

She declared, “I hereby clarify that I have no e-mail id that reads katrinakaif84@hotmail.com. There are some social networking accounts bearing my name but I dont have such an account either.”

I’m Losing My Identity:Adhyayan Suman

Adhyayan Suman, son of famous actor-comedian Shekhar Suman, who made a very forgettable debut with Haal-E-Dil, is furious on the Indian media for making him lose his own identity.

He says, “The importance the media gives to my relationship makes me very upset and is difficult to handle,” he says, “First, I was known as Shekhar Suman’s son and now I am known as Kangana’s boyfriend so I feel like I am losing my identity. I don’t like anything being written about my relationship and I’d rather people just write about my work. I am dreading all the questions I will be asked during promotions for Raaz because Kangana and I are playing a live-in couple in the film.”

‘Fashion’ movie success bash

Madhur Bhandarkar’s ambitious project ‘Fashion’ did pretty well at the box-office. The cast and crew of the movie along with many other sizzling Bollywood personalities celebrated the success of the film at the bash held at Vie Lounge, Juhu, Mumbai, last Friday Nite.

Madhur Bhandarkar along with Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut, Mugdha Godse, Arbaaz Khan, Arjan Bajwa etc were present at the party.

Salman Khan promotes ‘Yuvraaj’ on Children’s Day

‘Rang Rasiya’ Based On Life of Painter Raja Ravi Varma Screened

“Rang Rasiya” a sensuous love story based on the life of noted painter Raja Ravi Varma got released at 52nd London Film Festival. At the release of Bilingual movie at London Festival, the stars of the movie Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen were also present at the venue. The film is released along with another interesting Indian entry “Slumdog Millionare”. Rang Rasiya is also released at Cannes and Venice film festivals also.

Varma’s life filled with up and downs from early life in Kerala to his life in Mumbai of British period where he got in love relation with Sugandha- her beloved and his conflict with religious leaders on his paintings being erotic and blasphemous all has been voiced in this movie. The movie is set to be released in December.

Aamir Khan who is quite popular in Media for being not too friendly with media is now coming closer to it. Aamir, who is quite notorious for not been in parties, award ceremonies and giving interviews, is now looking in mood to inject closeness in his relations with media.

And if it is believed then this change of heart has come from his efforts to promote his next coming movie ‘Ghajini’ in which he loses his memory. Surprisingly, in as relation improvement exercise he has sent an email to all the journalists asking them to fill up on online form so he can select the journalist for communication on the basis of earlier meeting with the same. Soha Ali Khan gets her Bengali right with mom’s help

Actress Soha Ali Khan has already carved her niche in Bengali films with her work in Anjan Das’s “Iti Srikanta” and in Rituparno Ghosh’s “Antar Mahal”. However, she still has to get her mother, the yesteryear actress Sharmila Tagore to speak the dialogues for her to get the Bengali accent right.

“I can’t speak Bengali at all but I can understand it. It’s difficult because I have had to memorise my lines with much more effort. It’s a lot more work than required in Hindi and English films,” says Soha.

“I get my mother to say all of my dialogues and I record them and listen to them later to better my accent,” she added.

At Present, Soha is on with another Bengali project with Aparna Sen titled ‘Goinar Baksho’ (The Jewellary Box).

“I’m doing ‘Goinar Baksho’ (The Jewellery Box) with Aparna ji. It’s a film that we have been planning to make since a long time and finally the dates and stuff have been decided. Am really excited, it’s a lovely script,” Soha said.

The posters of ‘Raaz- The Mystery continues’ create curiosity

With the poster design of their forthcoming ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’, Vishesh Films has proved it yet again that the look of the poster of their films is enough to generate enough curiosity and excitement for the film. The Bhatts have been releasing one poster after another in continuation to heighten the mystery associated with the film.

The first ever look of the movie sported an all-new logo in a venomous neon green colour that was designed to distinguish it as an out-and-out horror film, another look showed a backless Kangana Ranaut with Raaz - The Mystery Continues written with blood on her back. Well, if the warning of ‘This Winter…Fear Comes Homes’ wasn’t scary enough, what with Kangana’s fingers turning into claws waiting to attack anything that comes her way, comes another poster which introduces Emraan Hashmi for the first time to the audience.

The latest poster shows Kangana’s pretty yet somber face with Emraan standing among the ruins of what looks like Mukesh Mills reconstructed. The white glow behind his head adds to the mystery and fearful atmosphere indicating that it is a full moon night. What is striking is the brand new makeover of Emraan with a new hairstyle, a French beard and soul-stirring eyes staring right from the poster.

This supernatural thriller from the Bhatt camp has a fresh story and explores the evil within the human psyche. Mohit Suri got inspired from Indian mythology, where good and evil are interwoven in human nature. Kangana Ranaut again plays a supermodel in this film with Emraan Hashmi and Adhyayan as supporting cast. The movie is slated for January 23 release and is in post production stages now.

Shilpa Shetty injures her wrist

Shilpa Shetty has injured her wrist for reasons she is uncertain about. She says the culprit could either be her cartwheel practice for her new action film or her regular weight raining. Anyways, she has been advised a three-month rest by her doctor and never known to sit back, Shilpa will be utilizing this time to do things she had long kept on hold because of her tight schedule.

“I have started reading scripts that I did not have time to read earlier. But I am going to be very careful about what I say yes to. I want to do films where my character is exceptionally well developed. I don’t want to do multistarrers,” she said.

Talking about her new role as a producer, Shilpa said, “I haven’t opted for top stars because getting their dates would be a problem. Also I have realized that I have become of a producer than an actress.

I needed to do a U turn to be taken seriously as an actress once again.” Shilpa added, “Financers want filmmakers to cut down on costs. How can that be possible? I don’t want to compromise on the quality of my film to save a few bucks.”

Meanwhile, Shilpa has found ways to camouflage the injury on screen. “Ill wear a long sleeve top for Bigg Boss and I’ll wear a fat kada for Sunny Deol’s The Man.”

Arbaaz Ditches Wife Malaika For Katrina

Yes Arbaaz Khan has dumped wife Malaika Arora for brother Salman’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif. Shocked! Dont be.Arbaaz has taken up a new role - that of a producer and for his first film he decided to take Katrina Kaif for the lead role instead of his dear wife Malaika Arora. Now Malaika wouldn’t have been so disappointed in Arbaaz if he had chosen any other actress.

Malaika and Katrina just cannot stand each other. A source reveals,

“Apparently, Malaika was supposed to be the lead heroine in Arbaaz’s first film as producer. But with the recent success achieved by Katrina, Arbaaz has decided that it would be a better option financially to replace his wife with his brother’s future wife.”

“As one would expect this has not gone down well with Malaika who is now threatening to leave him if he does the intended. Malaika is very jealous of Katrina and it is common knowledge that the two girls share cold vibes,” added the source.

Relax Malaika… You cannot compete with Katrina. She is younger and prettier.

Dostana Press Meet Pictures

Dostana released today and like all Karan Johar films this movie has a lot of expectations. Primarily, also because it has Bollywood biggies like Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham (wonder if I should include Bobby Deol’s name in that list).

I haven’t watched the movie yet but Im hoping to see it soon. Watch out for the review but for now check out the Dostana Press Meet Pictures.

Priyanka looks sooooo good. I love her new hairstyle. Abhishek looks weary as though we was made to walk all the way from Kochi to Mumbai. John looks hot but as usual has his mouth half open (that makes him look kinda dumb) and Bobby Deol… he is okay (but he seems as bland as a boiled egg without salt).

Arjun Rampal Truly Rocks Now!

Arjun Rampal is on cloud nine now. His last few films, although were multi-starrers but were his most commercially successful films.Arjun confessed that he wasn’t too keen on playing the baddie in Om Shanti Om. But Apparently on New Year’s eve SRK and Farah dragged him into the bathroom and told him about his role. Arjun wondered what impact the negative role may have on his kids. And when SRK assuringly said -

“Do this one film for yourself. You’ll do plenty for your kids!”

Arjun then went ahead with the role and now he is all smiles about his success. Not only Farah and Shahrukh are fond of Arjun but Farhan Akhtar is a huge fan of him too.

Actually Farhan had Arjun in mind for his movie Lakshya. “I’d earlier wanted him for a role in Lakshya, but he’d been busy. I’d seen him with his kids on holiday and thought he could draw on that for the character,” says Farhan.

Farhan then cast him in his remake of Don in Prans role which Arjun agreed to do only on the condition saying “As long as you don’t put me in spandex and make me walk the tightrope”.

Well from Don on, Arjun has been plainly lucky… His last film ‘The Last Lear’ is said to be his best performance till date.

Finally Arjun has proved that he is much more than an amazingly good look guy.
