Raima Sen loses to Neetu Chandra once again

Neetu Chandra had replaced Raima Sen for the hot and sultry role in the forthcoming ‘Rann’. Once again, Chandra has snatched a role from Bong beauty Raima Sen, this time in Jag Mundhra’s forthcoming thriller ‘Apartment’. The movie will see Neetu playing a simple girl for a change and also stars ex-miss universe Tanushree Dutta, Anupam Kher and Rohit Roy.
The story of the movie goes as:
Preeti Sengupta (Tanushree Dutta) is an airhostess living in with her boyfriend Karan Malhotra (Rohit Roy). They share a nice 2BHK apartment in the northern suburbs of Mumbai and are befriended by their elderly neighbor Madhusudan Tanha (Anupam Kher), a struggling poet and lyricist.
When Preeti suspects Karan’s fidelity and throws him out of her apartment, she advertises for a tenant to share her apartment. Enter Neha Bhardwaj (Neetu Chandra), a modest small-town girl asking for accommodation. The two girls soon become close until things begin to go disastrously wrong - slowly and steadily and Neha and Preeti are torn apart by suspicion, deceit and betrayal.
Will the movie revive Neetu Chandra’s sinking career and make Raima Sen regret the loss, only time will tell……

Neetu Chandra gets mercury soaring for ‘Maxim’

Neetu Chandra was last seen in ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye’ in her track suits and sarees. So, she decided to go for a change and shock everyone with her dare-bare shoot for ‘Maxim’. However, the shoot is not for the cover, but for a full fledged feature in the magazine.

However, Neetu doesn’t find this shoot very shocking as she has already worn swimsuits in her earlier films. She says, “Don’t be so shocked; it isn’t that scandalous after all. Maxim approached me to do the photo shoot. I thought to myself that when I am quite comfortable to do so many different kinds of characters anyways in my films then why not be a face for this photo shoot as well? I have worn swimsuit in my very first film [Garam Masala] so there was no big deal in doing it again. For the Maxim shoot, it was quite a collaborative act and I worked with the costume designer to arrive at a final look for me.”

When asked if she was comfortable with the shoot, Neetu says, “Quite comfortable because I am someone who doesn’t believe in the concept of ‘Size Zero’. I believe that for a woman, her curves and curls should be in the right place. I have been getting calls appreciating my approach towards the shoot. Of course, people have found me quite sensuous and hot. The credit for that should also go to the magazine which is quite creative in itself and photographer R. Burman who was excellent behind the camera.”

Neetu Chandra back in action

In case you have forgotten who Neetu Chandra is, we are here to help you out- she was last seen in flicks like ‘One, Two, Three’ and ‘Traffic Signal’. Yes, Neetu is back to make her presence felt. In the coming months, she will be seen in ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’, Flat No. 13B’ and ‘Kusarprasad Ka Bhoot’.

Not only this, Neetu has been signed by director Jeevita Rajasekhar for the Telugu remake of Raj Kumar Santoshi directed ‘Khakee’ and interestingly enough, Neetu will be playing the role of Tusshar Kapoor as well as Lara Dutta in the remake.

Confirms Neetu Chandra, “I loved Khakee and there was no way I would have missed an opportunity to be a part of the story, even though it was made in Telugu. In any case this is not the first time that I am working in a project down South. I have earlier also acted in GODAVARI.”

Talking about the film which will be titled ‘Satyamev Jayate’, Neetu reveals, “I play the role of a subordinate cop which was enacted by Tusshar Kapoor in the original. The character was so well written that it was noticed in spite of Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgan in the film. Icing on the cake was to jig to the dance number that is based on ‘Aisa Jadoo Daala Re’.”

About the item number played by Lara Dutta, Neetu smiles and says, “That’s the beauty of the script. The number has been amalgamated well into the role of the cop I play and the dance sequence is justified too. Composer Chinna has come up with an excellent tune which stands up for ‘Aisa Jadoo Daala Re’.”

The film also stars Sheril Pinty and Sanjana as the leading ladies other than Neetu Chandra. The film has Milind Soman as the main villain with Atul Kulkarni being repeated from the original cast of Khakee. “I am happy with the part I play as it is that of a lead role. I picked it up because it had lots of action. In fact you won’t believe the kind of stunts I have performed for the film”, says Neetu who is not new to action and is a taekwondo black belt who has earlier represented India.

Neetu Chandra as the lead character of a 3D mobile game

Neetu Chandra has taken a unique step in her career in the sense that she has signed an agreement with 7Seas Technologies Limited, an independent game Development Company based out of Hyderabad, for a 3D mobile game in which she will be playing the lead character.

“The game titled on her name Neetu (The Alien Killer), is based on a unique game story and revolves around the lead character killing different aliens,” Mr. Maruti Sanker .L, Managing Director of 7Seas Technologies, said. “3D mobile game development is the toughest challenge for the game developers as they have to offer same quality as PC or console but with a much reduced file size.”

Sanker feels that since Neetu is already popular, her charisma would give a glamour quotient to their 3D mobile game.

Neetu Chandra is a trained marshal arts expert and a Kathak dancer. She also holds a black belt in Taek-Won-Do, a Korean martial art form. She has already made her presence felt with movies like ‘Garam Masala’ and ‘Traffic Signal’. Her next ‘One Two Three’ is set to hit the screens shortly.

“I am very excited to be a part of this game, as I love sports and playing games,” says an all beaming Neetu.
