ohn Abraham has been offered a role in an animation flick named “Ali Baba And 40 Thieves”. The movie is going to be a 3-D animation movie directed by Soumitra Ranade. The actor though, will not be physically present, but will only lend his voice for the main character i.e. Ali Baba. The animation is said to be of Monsters Inc., King Kong and Happy Feet standards. It is viewed by the point of view of a kid in Mumbai named Chinku, who somehow reaches Arabia, to experience the adventure with Ali Baba.

Saif and his lady love, who had declared that marriage had no chance before 3 years, have now changed their word. The couple says that they can get married on any day!!!Saif has come out with a new statement, saying that he can announce the marriage date on any day.

Harman Thankfull To Kareena To Give Him Priyanka

Harman Baweja, who has been in news more for his affair with Priyanka rather than his new flick to be relesed soon, says he will be thankful to Kareena for not taking up Love Story 2050. Priyanka’s role was previously offered to Kareena Kapoor, who could not commit herself to the project as she had dates problems.

“But I guess whatever happens, happens for the best. Bebo’s exit gave us more time to plan and we could get better technicians on board to make the film look even better. So in a way I thank her for exiting,” says the actor thankfully!!

Bollywood’s most wanted actress Katrina Kaif was down with viral fever during the IIFA awards held in Bangkok recently and doctors had advised her complete bed rest.

The organisers wondered whether Katrina would be able to live up to her commitment and perform live for the event. In fact taking the doctor’s advise into consideration the organisers too suggested that Katrina should just take it easy and not perform at the show. But Katrina being a thorough professional, just popped in some antibiotics and was all ready to take on the stage. Retracting from a commitment was out of question.

And the kind of performance Katrina dished out, not once did the onlookers come to know that she was completely down with high fever as she looked as fresh as the morning dew and won the Glamorous diva title at the event.

Amisha Patel Steals The Show

The release of the film shows that Ameesha Patel’s ‘guest appearance’ was not so brief after all. Our sources say that Rani isn’t happy about Ameesha’s guest appearance being a full-fledged role. Says a friend of Rani, “The only thing brief about Ameesha’s role is the clothes her character wears. Otherwise we wonder why she has been credited as a ‘guest appearance’ in the film.

Ameesha is there in the film right from the opening almost to the end. What was Kunal Kohli thinking about when he kept insisting in all his press interviews that she had just a song and few scenes? That was untrue.” Our source adds, “In fact, Kunal spent a lot of time money and effort in styling Ameesha’s character. Her character is inspired by Malaika Arora. Kunal gave Ameesha all the sexiest dresses on this side of Catherine Zeta-Jones while Rani was given just one dress to wear throughout the film.

The excuse was that as a nanny she had to be austerely dressed. But don’t nannies change their clothes ? Says Rani’s friend, “Rani has heard some of the really catty comments on her performance on television. She has never felt threatened by any co-star’s presence, male or female. In fact she’s happy that Ameesha is getting recognition for Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. But she is saddened by the fact that her performance is being judged by her clothes.”

Big B Will Be Back On Small Screen

Bollywood senior most and also the extremely talented actor Amitabh Bachchan wants to make a comeback to television. It’s not like the veteran has much time to spare considering the number of films he is currently associated with. Confirming the rumours of his signing a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Amitabh is also busy shooting for Aladdin.

Talking about his venture with Bhansali, the Big B says, “It will be inappropriate to talk about the project as we are just discussing its script. But, yes I was approached to do the film and it will be directed by his assistant, while Bhansali will produce it. It’s titled Janaab Gandhi’

He also affirmed the news about his wish to make a comeback on TV. He said, “Discussions and meetings are on about the same. There are some game shows and other ideas to be considered. Now we’ll pick and choose and I may be on the small screen very soon.”
Ask him about his impending world tour which has been in the pipeline for quite some time now, and he states, “It’s just the usual thing that happens on live shows. There will be song, dance, music, discussion and the likes.” Well, in that case, wonder why the audience should shell out good money to come and watch ‘the usual’. Thats quite strange of him.

Pooja Bhatt Is Back As An Actress

Bollywood filmmaker and actress Pooja Bhatt said she could prove to be a better performer now as she had experience of being behind the camera.

Producers feel that since I have taken up filmmaking as an alternate profession, I have given up acting. But, it is not so. I am still open to good offers. But, I will not like to direct myself in my own film,” The actress is currently busy in her next project ‘Kajra re’ with Himesh Reshamiya and a Pakistani actor.

Bhatt said ‘Kajra re’ was the love story of a rockstar from India and a girl from Pakistan. “Himesh Reshamiya in the role of a rockstar looks unbelievable. His transition from a playback singer-music composer to an actor has been smooth,” Pooja said.
She said the heroine, Mona, is from a redlight area whom Himesh meets in Dubai. Himesh’s character has just experienced a tragedy where he has to give up his identity and start life all over again. “The film primarily dwells on the theme that where there is love, there is no fear,” she added.

Preity Zinta To Act With A Snake in Deepa Mehta’s Next

After her defeat in the Indian Premier League pretty Preity is all set to make her Bollywood comeback with Deepa Mehta’s upcoming movie ‘Heaven On Earth’. Zinta, of course, plays the female lead in the film, but surprisingly, the film’s hero is no macho man, he is not handsome, and he doesn’t even flaunt the much-wanted ‘six pack abs’. Director Deepa has cast a ‘snake’ opposite Preity Zinta, as the film’s ‘hero’.

In ‘Heaven on Earth’, Preity plays ‘Chand’, an innocent girl who is harassed by her in- laws after she marries a Canadian NRI, ‘Rocky’. And guess what? It’s the snake which lives in their backyard, comes to her rescue, and gets the actress saved from her abusive in-laws and husband!
If sources are to be believed, “Initially, when Preity read the script, she was very excited about her character, but when the shoot began, it became hard for the actress to get deep into the skin of the character.” Preity, however, managed to remain very calm and brave, and the actress is indeed trying to give it her best shot, as always.

Bollywood’s most awaited and expected release of the year, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ), which marks the return to direction of the scion of the Chopra family, Aditya Chopra, is progressing briskly. As we had broken the news, earlier this month, the latest addition to the film’s cast is Vinay Pathak, and he has confirmed the news officially.

Unlike the popular perception, the reason as to why it took eight years for Aditya Chopra to return to direction is very simple. The Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein director was busy in production work and had assigned the job of direction to different directors, several of them new. He also completed the setting up of the formidable state-of-the-art Yash Raj Studio.
Coming to the Shahrukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer, RNBDJ, unlike Aditya’s previous directorial ventures, as mentioned above, this one is going to be a quickie and if things go according to plans, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi will release before the year 2008 ends.

Bips Bengali Film In Trouble

The bong babe, who stars in a Bengali movie, Sab Charita Kalpunik, is under troubles because of the placements of logos. The movie was to have reliance logo flashing as the movie started, but the director, Rituparno Ghosh had other views about the logo’s placement, which ignited a conflict between the company and the director.

“While Reliance wanted their logo to be flashed on the screen with the first shot of the film, Rituparno is of the opinion that it would be more aesthetic to have the logo just before the narration begins,”says a source.

How sad to see a little logo conflict to bar the audience from viewing a great movie.

Guess what! Vidya’s Kismat Konnection is getting released during monsoon and thus leaving no room to think of its failure at the box office. What else, Vidya has nothing but to wish re-releasing Halla Bol and Salaam-E-Ishq during this monsoon to click hit. Ha Ha. Now that was a joke.

Preity Zinta says she invested in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in spite of warnings from a friend astrologer .
‘In spite of the warning from my astrologer friend, I went for the deal as I had a gut feeling that it is the future. I told my friend that if it doesn’t work for me then I would become the 50th wife of the Sultan of Brunei,’ Preity, who co-owns the IPL Mohali team,says. The star of hits like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, Preity said it was only in a developing country like India that one could think of buying a sports team.
‘The scenario is going to change after 10 years. One can never dream of buying a team like Manchester United or Arsenal today in a country like England.’ Preity bought Kings XI Punjab in partnership with her boyfriend Ness Wadia and Karan Paul of Apeejay Surrendra Group and Mohit Burman of Dabur. They paid $76 million for the franchise.
She said: ‘My team performed well and I am happy with all the team members and will continue my support for the team.’ As far as her balance sheet was concerned, she said this had not been a profitable year but was optimistic they would do better next time.

Vidya Balan, who is Shahid’s good friend and also his co-star in “Kismet Konnection”, says she has never worked with an actor as hardworking as Shahid. The actress has gone totally gaga over Shahid’s commitment towards everything he does.

“Shahid is the most unselfish co-star I have ever come across as well as a very disciplined and talented actor. He puts in so much of hard work in his performance that it in a way inspires you to work harder and I respect him for that,” says the actress.

Vidya was quite stunned when Shahid agreed to shoot for a song after they had packed up after the day’s shooting. Also Vidya wishes to work with him in future too.

Diya Mirza Takes Out a Crocodile Baby From The Egg

Before the creative juices seep in your creative minds, let us clarify that giving ‘birth’ to crocodiles is a very easy task at the Sriracha Tiger Zoo in Bangkok.

Dia Mirza visited the Sriracha Tiger Zoo during the croc egg-breaking festival during the IIFA weekend in Bangkok. An ecstatic Dia said that holding a baby crocodile in her palms was indeed a strange experience in itself as there were scores of crocodile eggs, most of them already cracked. Along with the caretaker, Dia had to get the baby crocodile out of the shell, cut the umbilical cord, and then bathe it in warm water!

But this process was not as easy as much as it sounds. Dia said that firstly the eggs were all sticky and full of goo. Then the baby croc that popped out was all smeared in blood! And when someone asked Dia if she would undergo the ‘delivery process’ once again, she quickly replied that helping in giving birth to one croc was more than enough for her.
So can we say that Dia has turned mother of a croc baby. What say ?
