The green-eyed beauty who was in town to launch the Longines watch collection said she did not mind the kissing scene between hubby Abhishek and John Abraham.

Presently shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Ravana with hubby Abhishek in Kerala’s feisty forests, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan recently flew to Mumbai for a day. One to be with her dad, retired Merchant Navy Officer Krishna Raj on his 70th birthday and secondly, being brand ambassador of Longines watches she was to introduce their new collection.

Dressed in a Cinderella-like white-and-black gown the beauty looked fresh despite performing her wifely duties and going about her hectic work schedule. Aishwariya is looking forward to the release of her Hollywood flick Pink Panther, is working on Shankar’s Robot and Mani’s Ravan (working title) and reveals that she is in discussion with Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Sanjay Leela Bhansali for their forthcoming ventures.

“The keyword is time management and I say it’s all about managing it and not questioning it! I learnt this a long-time back when I would always chalk-out a schedule for myself depending on how much I could fit in,” gushes the beauty.

She reacts with a grin when asked why she did not do Dostana and what was her reaction to Abhishek’s kissing scene with John Abraham in the film. “That’s okay, it was part of the film,” she replies coolly, “I’d have accepted 'Dostana', but it was my first offer immediately after marriage. Since the focus was on the chemistry between Abhishek and John and not on a love story, my presence would have taken that away from them.”

She concedes that both Abhishek and she are always attracted by films which give them a chance to experiment with their looks and characters. And she wants to give the audiences a different Aishwarya every time.

“Not that I plan my moves, as something great always comes along. Like the role I play in Ravan is something completely different from what I did in Mani Sir’s Iruvar and then Guru.”

As for the kind of endorsements she likes to do, the former Miss world smiles, “The product and campaign should be simple and understated and something that complements my personality.”

A while ago, we had informed you of PepsiCo India Holdings having appointed Kareena Kapoor as their new brand ambassador for its snack food products. However, it was unclear as to which sub-brand she would be promoting. Now finally the cat's out of the bag!

Kareena has been brought onboard as the new face for PepsiCo Snack Foods, particularly for its famous product Kurkure. However, Juhi Chawla who has been associated with the brand Kurkure for nearly five years will continue to be the face of the brand.

Juhi and Kareena would together look at endorsing the entire portfolio, though the details haven't been chalked out.

Kareena, being the face of the young, Gen-Next India has been roped in to promote 'Kurkure Desi Beats'. In fact the TVC has Kareena playing a character similar to popular story book character 'Cinderella'.

She is shown as the maid of the house, while her stepsisters have all the fun. The 'desi' twist in the story is when singer Ila Arun comes to the rescue as her godmother.

She offers Kareena a packet of 'Kurkure Desi Beats' to spice up her life. The Englishmen and her stepsisters are having a boring dance, when 'desi' girl Kareena arrives in Indian attire and adds the much needed spark to the party. The ad film ends with the tagline - 'No Fun, Without Desipann'.

One will have to wait and watch if Kareena is able to bring in her charisma to keep Brand Kurkure rocking.

Famed Bollywood actor Ashish Chowdhury’s sister and brother-in-law were reportedly among the hostages killed at the Oberoi Trident Hotel in Mumbai.

"My sister Monica and her husband have been inside the hotel along with maybe 40 other hostages. They came here for dinner last night, but now they are not answering any calls," Chowdhury told a news channel Thursday.

The actor had been waiting outside the hotel since he heard about the attacks, according to reports, and broke down upon hearing she and her husband were among the dead.

More than 150 people have been killed since gunmen attacked 10 sites across India's financial capital starting Wednesday night, including 22 foreigners - two of them Americans, officials said.

Am I being greedy?: Asin

Southern actress Asin, who has two big Bollywood movies in her kitty - Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini and Vipul Shah’s London Dreams - says she can’t settle for substandard deals.
“I’m very excited about both Ghajini and London Dreams. I’ve a long list of criteria for selecting a role, beginning with the director, banner and co-star and ending with the cinematographer. I want them all to be just right. Am I being greedy? Perhaps. I’m sorry. I can’t settle for anything but the best,” Asin said.
In London Dreams, Asin plays a singer and gets to play the guitar and sing on stage along with Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan.
“It’s something I’ve never played before. In fact, I think it’s a role never seen in Indian cinema. Beyond that I can’t talk about it,” she said.
The makers of her Hindi films have forbidden her from talking to the media and Asin has no choice but to comply.
“Such is life,” she sighed. “I’m quite willing to remain quiet until I’m asked to talk. I’d rather wait for people to see me than hear me.”
Asin moved to Mumbai a year ago but sadly she has no friends in Mumbai.
According to a source, this is because Asin is seen as a threat by the ruling regime of female superstars.
“The other girls in Mumbai don’t feel threatened by one another. But the minute a striking pretty and talented actress from the South comes, they get all jittery. They see Asin as the next No 1 after Hema Malini, Rekha, Sridevi and Aishwarya Rai,” said one of Asin’s male co-stars.
The actress added: “It is true all my friends are in Chennai and Kochi. I’m yet to make friends in the Bollywood film industry. I don’t know why. But here it is just work and back home with my parents.”
For Asin, it’s bye-bye to Tamil and Telugu cinema as she is pursuing a full-time career in Hindi movies. She is now planning to buy a house in Mumbai.
“We’re looking at some places. And we’ll zero in on the place we want soon,” said Asin, who turned 23 recently.
Commenting on her age, she said: “I can’t lie about my age because at the age of 14 when I started working in southern films, I gave my first interview where I gave out my birthday. Now I’m trapped forever.”
While Ghajini is scheduled for a Christmas release, London Dreams is expected to hit the screens in summer 2009.
