After Om Shanti Om’s petite actress Deepika Padukone, it is the Anushka Sharma, who will be seen as King Khan’s costar in “Rab ne bana di Jodi“. Like Deepika, she also hails from Bangalore. She is quite luck to have support of Aditya Chopra and SRK like as Deepika who was backed up well by SRK and Farah to get an initial break in tinsel town.

The actress from Bangalore is a model and made several appearances in many TV commercials. Pursuing graduation in economics from Bangalore, she was showstopper in Wendell Roderick’s show at Lakme Fashion week this year. “It was her beautiful expressive eyes which made me select her as my showstopper” said Roderick.

Even Yash Copra has lots of applauds for her, according to him, she fits perfect for the role, “We were looking first and foremost for someone who could truly embody the spirit of small town Punjab and we know we have found her in Anushka and while she has no previous acting experience, we have seen that unique spark in her that makes us confident that she will be a standout even opposite Shah Rukh,”

“Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” that is scheduled for shooting from May 16 will hit theatres worldwide on Dec 12. While discussing about the film Shah Rukh said, “The first day of shooting is what gave me goose bumps like nothing else and to make films with Yash Raj, that too when Adi is directing, is an experience that is more than 100% exciting”.
So , lets keep our fingers crossed for another Yash Raj venture!!

Kareena tops the cutest veggie poll

Kareena Kapoor was declared the cutest vegetarian that fans would love to emulate. The online poll was conducted by PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) recently and Kareena won hands down.
The actress bagged the highest number of votes giving other potential celebrities, who followed and advocated a vegetarian diet, far behind. Kareena has been receiving compliments by the dozen ever since she turned vegetarian and lost oodles of weight. “If my fans are looking up to me and have turned vegetarian, then I am happy about it. I am a pure vegetarian and it helps me keep fit and healthy. I am aware that my fans have liked my look in Tashan and I am glad to be an example for them,” says Kareena.

“However, I don’t want people to come to the conclusion that turning vegetarian means starving oneself to death. I have a healthy breakfast and have portions of food throughout the day. It is a healthy meal of varied vegetables and fruits. I want those looking up to me for their fitness regime to follow a healthy diet and not pay attention to stories that I survive on juices alone. That is not true! Also these rumours about me having acquired the size zero body mass is baseless. I am fit and healthy. My weight is just right for me. I would like to tell my fans that we are all individuals and body requirements vary from person to person. You should find the weight that is apt for you and keep fit. And yes follow a healthy vegetarian diet,” she adds.

Anuradha Sawhney PETA India chief functionary, said, “Each vegetarian saves more than 80 animals every year. And thanks to Kareena for setting an example to turn vegetarian. Our planet will be better off without meat consumption that causes many environmental problems. Kareena is doing her part to save the world and she is setting a great example for young people. True beauty comes from within and Kareena has proved she is a winner all round.” Kareena, size zero be damned, your curves are making the world go “green” with envy.

I Am No Longer Single- Vidya Balan

So is Vidya Balan finally decided to stop playing coy and admit she actually has a boyfriend? Well it certainly looks like this from her recent interview to Subhash K Jha.

“The other evening I went to watch Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak perform Dear Liar at Prithvi theatre.” On being asked who accompanied her, she chuckles, “Ah, it was friend whose name begins with ‘S’. I’m not saying any more than that!”

“I don’t deny that Shahid is a very close friend. For the first time, I’ve worked with a co-star who’s actually closer to me by way of age, experience and temperament. We were together for two months in Toronto shooting Aziz Mirza’s Kismat Connection and we really got along well. I found him very calm and intelligent. I think we’re alike in many ways. I really enjoyed working with him. And I would love to do more films with him.”

Bips missing out on John’s family wedding

Bipasha Basu won’t be attending beau John Abraham’s brother Alan’s wedding in Romania on May 25. Bips is currently shooting for Freeze, directed by Jehangir Surti. Originally, Bips was to fly down to Romania with John for Alan’s wedding to Anka, a Romanian girl. But now, the actress won’t be able to attend the wedding. She’s citing professional reasons for missing the big family function. Says a source from the industry, “Though John is maintaining a tight-lipped silence about Bips’s attendance, he’s a bit miffed about her absence at the first wedding in his family.”

Initially, the couple had planned to take a short summer holiday in Romania after the wedding as both had been leading a hectic lifestyle and weren’t able to spend too much time together. Now that plan stands cancelled too.

However Bipasha laughs off the rumours. “Please don’t make this an issue. The wedding is an important and auspicious occasion and there is no problem between John and me. It’s true that I can’t make it for Alan’s wedding. My schedule in Bangkok is too tight and they can”t shoot without me. But there is a proper reception for Alan and Anka on June 7, which I will attend. It’s sad that I will miss their wedding in Romania but I guess I will celebrate doubly at the reception.”

Bipasha has been leading a very hectic life for the last few months. “I have been in Italy and Switzerland for a month for Bachna Ae Haseeno. I can’t attend IIFA too as I have to be back for Alan’s reception. I couldn’t take off for the wedding because of the Freeze schedule.” Bips hasn’t been seen for a single IPL match in India. She says, “I have been out of India throughout the IPL matches. I enjoyed the Yash Raj schedule and now am enjoying the Bangkok one.” Besides Freeze, Bipasha’s next releases are Yash Raj Films Bachna Ae Haseeno, Sanjay Gupta’s Pankh and Rituparno Ghosh’s next.

Lara is caught in a starry web

Lara Dutta’s penchant for collecting watches is well documented by now. “It might seem like an obsession but it’s just an ecstatic feeling of owning that dream watch and now I feel that I have had too many of those dreams. I have watches from all over the world whether it be a designer one or an antique one and I still pick up one whenever I get the chance,” smiles Lara.

The ex-miss Universe has also launched her website recently and is very excited about it “I’ve launched my personal web site to be in touch with my fans globally. It has all the latest news and pictures of me and my fans can read and interact with me through it. It’s a great medium,” she says.

On the films she is doing this year, Lara says, “Last year had its ups and downs but it has taught me some really valuable lessons in life too. I’ve some great work coming up this year that I’m really looking forward to. I have another comedy film with Govinda Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai with B.R. Films and then a big action flick Blue with Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan! I’m excited to be back doing some action! Though I’ve enjoyed comedy, I have missed being part of other genres.”

SRK Still Feels the Pain Given By the ICC

SRK who has been a dedicated owner of his IPL team, is left very hurt by the Anti Corruption And Security Unit of the ICC. After the series of bad performance of the team in the IPL, Shah Rukh Khan was told to stay away from the team and its players and was barred from entering their dressing room.

“I have paid my players to win. Will I pay them now to lose? This is illogical,”

said Shah Rukh out of disgust. After much hype, the IPL decided that the actor could stay with the team but only for fifteen minutes, which further angered the King Khan.

A.R. Rahman Following the Remix Trend

A.R. Rahman has been one of the musicians who have been opposing the new age remixes. The ace music director doesn’t really like it when the DJs remix the already wonderfully tuned songs. But this is the first time he has agreed to remix his own songs for the film “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”. The ambitious producer Aamir Khan had insisted Rahman to remix the songs as the movie deals with the youth, and they would like the songs in a peppy tunes and feet tapping beats. The maestro had prepared a catchy remix number which won the hearts of the team and so it was decided that Rahman would remix his songs himself without even any assistance by the DJ.

They also say that the end is quite unexpected as the actor has many people for protection but is still gunned down at the end. The distributors term this climax as “depressing”.
